encore performance benefitting the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia
The Virginia Chorale concludes its 42nd season with an encore performance of poor hymnal, the 2023 concert-length grammy-nominated work by Pulitzer Prize winning composer David Lang. Set to sacred and secular texts about community and compassion, poor hymnal is a “thoughtful, moving, and inspiring” work that received its Virginia premiere on October 2025 by the Chorale.
All proceeds will be directed to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore.

World Premiere Recording Release
The Virginia Chorale is pleased to release the ensemble's recording of The Neighboring Village by composer Gregory Spears. Commissioned by the Chorale for its 40th Anniversary Season, The Neighboring Village received its premiere performance on April 20th, 2024 in Virginia Beach, VA.
