​2025 YOUNG SINGERS PROJECT AUDITIONS

The 2025 Young Singers Project auditions will include two elements:
1. Students may sing one of the following:
  • District Audition Aria Excerpt. Students can prepare the following piece:  “Nature's Song”  - click here to download and print a PDF, and to access audio files. Students should prepare the voice part (or parts) most comfortable in their voices - harmonic support will be provided at the piano.
  • Art song of your own choosing (pianist will be provided, please send piece in advance).
2. Vocalization and Sight-reading. 

    AUDITION REGISTRATION 

    Auditions will be held Sunday, November 3 in Norfolk, and Monday, November 4, 2024 in Newport News. It is critical that each student registering for an audition complete this form as thoroughly as possible. Please complete every field you are able to, even if it is not marked as required. Registrations will be accepted until 12PM on Friday, November 1. After you register, you will be contacted via email with your audition details.  **Please note: as of Tues. 10/29, Sunday auditions are not guaranteed due to the number of students who have already requested that date. If you can audition on Monday, we ask that you register for that date**

    Rehearsals for the 2025 YSP will take place on the following Saturdays and Sundays in January: 11, 12, 18, 19. Rehearsals will be held on the ODU campus. 
    Rehearsal Schedule: 
    Saturday, Jan. 11 12:30-3:00 PM, 4:00 -6:00 PM
    Sunday, Jan. 12. 2:30-4:30, 5:00-7:30 PM
    Saturday, Jan. 18 12:30-3:00 PM, 4:00 -6:00 PM
    Sunday, Jan. 19 2:30-4:30, 5:00 -7:30 PM

    Two culminating concerts will be presented:
