CONCERT ATTIRE GUIDELINES

Concert attire for all performers is concert black; please see below for details. These guidelines apply to the Virginia Chorale's April 2023 performance of Petite Messe Solennelle and are subject to change for subsequent concerts and seasons.

GENTLEMEN

  • black leather dress shoes, shined/polished
  • black dress socks
  • black dress slacks, pressed (black jeans and black Dockers/khakis are not permitted)
  • black dress shirt, pressed (creased, full collar with collar stays- no visible t-shirt collar underneath)
  • black leather dress belt with a silver buckle

LADIES

  • black closed-toe shoes
  • black socks or black opaque hose (sheer hose are not permitted)
  • full length, pressed black dress slacks (black jeans or Dockers/khakis, ankle pants are not permitted)
  • black blouse; 3/4- or full-length sleeves
  • black sequins/beading (optional)
  • jewelry: stud earrings (optional)
Please note: Our goal for the Concert Dress is that we visually portray a polished ensemble. If you have concerns about appropriate attire, please check with the Artistic Director or Chorus Manager and they will be happy to address any specific questions.
