How long will the concert last?
The average duration of a Virginia Chorale performance is 1.5 to 1.75 hours, with a 10- to 15-minute intermission.
What should I wear to the concert?
We have no dress code, but ask that you dress in a manner that fits with the concert venue. For most of our concerts, patrons choose to dress in casual business attire. The temperature in our venues may be unpredictable and/or difficult for us to control; we recommend bringing a sweater or light jacket, regardless of the time of year.
May I take photographs or record the performance?
Still photography may be taken before and after the performance, and at intermission. Video and audio recording is prohibited at all times. Cellular phones and other personal electronic devices should be turned off when entering the performance space.
What if I arrive late for a concert?
Late seating is available during applause breaks in the program. You will be asked to wait in the lobby or narthex and will be seated at the discretion of the box office/house management.
Why can't I buy recordings of every Virginia Chorale concert?
Although all our concerts are recorded live for archival purposes and are sometimes broadcast by WHRO 90.3FM, the Chorale does not make these recordings available to the public because the sound quality of some live recordings typically does not equal the artistic standard set by most studio recordings. However, we encourage you to check out our YouTube channel to listen for free!

I submitted an audition request a while back, and have not heard from anyone. Do I need to do anything else?

Works which have been published are available through their respective publishers. Works premiered by the Chorale (and some others) have generally been obtained directly from the composer.
